- According to the 1920 Minnesota Census, Octavie was a widow and the Head of the household, living with her son Louis in Biwabik (St. Louis) Minnesota. She was 72 years old and obtained her citizenship in 1914.
After living for awhile in Minnesota, Louis (her son) brought Octavie back to Canada and she was admitted to the St-Charles Hospice in Ottawa Canada on 15 Sep 1927 where she died on Aug. 23, 1930.)
